  Surojit Penblunt:

  - Sujit Chakraborty

There is utter madness of media in the 21st C and the complete domination of mediocrity. Products are mediocre, editing is mediocre, and there is an epidemic marked by a constipation of ideas and diarrhoea of words. TV has become the new thing, with all the channels giving the same news and each confusing a News Flash with Breaking News. The book talks of the journey of a scribe who has a Naxalite background and started his career when salaries were abysymally low (Rs 450 was his first salary). This was at a time when scribes still had values and people respected some of them and even feared a few. Penblunt grows as a journalist, always a brilliant and fearless investigator but works for small papers, never under a big banner, because he was never considered fit by them. The eponymous Penblunt uses a blunt pen that when writing on issues which are altruistic and may be even utopian.
