NALINI RAJAN has a sound educational background including a Ph.D. in Social Communication, l’Universite
Catholique de Louvain. She was Visiting Fellow at University of Edinburgh, University of Oxford and Hastings
Centre for Bio-ethics, New York. She has lectured widely on subjects related to democracy, human rights,
secularism, and multiculturalism, and participated in various conferences, seminars, and workshops on these
subjects.

Nalini has won numerous awards and grants including Journalistes en Europe Fellowship and traveled widely in
Western and Eastern Europe, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Brazil, Bolivia and Peru. She has
covered political, economic, social and cultural events for newspapers and magazines. Nalini lives in Madras, India
and is presently Associate Professor at Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. She is the author of a number of
academic books and articles. The Pangloin’s Tale is her first novel. |
