Hailed by critics as the “Philip Roth of India” Inderjit
Badhwar blends lucidity, humour and emotion with a rare
mastery. Badhwar’s first novel, partly autobiographical in
nature, is a classic, and since its release in India, it has been
among the best sellers.
Inderjit Badhwar was born in the heart of rural India in
the 1940’s. In 1968, after a liberal western education in the
country’s elite institutions such as the Doon School and St.
Stephen’s college, he settled in the United States where, after
an Ivy League degree from Columbia University, he worked as
an editor and journalist for major American newspapers,
magazines and TV stations. |
