Jyoti and Suresh Guptara were born to an Indian father and English mother in England on November 22, 1988. They spent the first seven years of their lives in Great Britain, and then moved to eastern Switzerland. They speak fluent English, German, Schwyzerdütsch (Swiss German).
After doing well in the Swiss school system for eight years, Suresh moved to an English boarding school -- Bradfield College -- while Jyoti left school to successfully teach himself at home for British O-levels (school-leaving exams).
In addition to writing, the twins like playing football (real football, namely, "soccer"), skiing, singing, painting and modelling, and organising local youth events. In 2004, at age fifteen, Jyoti became the youngest known writer to have an article published in The Wall Street Journal. His articles and short stories have also been published in German, in local newspapers, and in a school textbook for German grammar (Ein- |

Grundlagen und Nachschlagewerk published by Sauerländer Verlag). Currently Suresh is doing brilliantly at school, while Jyoti is a full-time writer.
The Guptara Twins finished the first draft of their critically acclaimed debut, Conspiracy of Calaspia, at the age of 11 and have continued work on the Insanity fantasy series ever since. More than a story, Calaspia is a subtle parody, full of satire and symbols alongside action and adventure. |
